Second Kernstown Battlefield

The Second Battle of Kernstown, fought in July, 1864, again focused on the high ground outside Kernstown at the Pritchard Farm. The Kernstown Battlefield Association owns and operates the site 3 miles south of downtown Winchester.  The 350-acre battlefield park has walking trails and a small museum and visitor's center. The stone wall, scene of the Union defense during the battle, has been preserved.
